Richard George Tawney (born November 3, 1960) is an American politician who is the 46th and current president of the United States. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the 48th vice president from 2017 to 2019 under Arnold Wolf and served in the United States House of Representatives as House Majority Whip from 2011 to 2015. During his tenure in the House he represented Tennessee's 1st Congressional district.
