Amstelvoort is the most populous city in Beatavic as well as the capital city of Brederningen with an estimated 2020 population of 300,000 people. The city is the core of the Amstelvoort Metropolitan Area which has a population of 1,300,000 as of 2020 estimates. Amstelvoort is furthermore situated within a larger metropolis known as the Amstelvoort-Dorburg-Rotterberg Combined Statistical Area, a corridor of contiguous urban and suburban sprawl along a 193 Kilometer (119.9 Mile) segment on the Grantham Front, comprising a population of 4,500,000 (as of 2020 estimates), making it the largest city in Beatavic. It is also the largest city in the Darmstadt Plain.
Amstelvoort was founded in 1698 during the Northern Expedition by Korneel Schoonderwoert along with 20 other people who were seeking money for discovered land.
