Pashtunistan (Pashto:پښتونستان, Pax̌tūnstān), officially the Islamic Emirate of Pashtunistan (د پښتونستان اسلامي امارت, Da Pax̌tūnstān Islāmī Jomhoriyat), is a newly-formed state in South Asia. It borders Pakistan to the east, Balochistan to the south, Iran to the west, Hazaristan to the north and Tajikistan to the northeast. Pashtunistan is landlocked and mountainous; its landscape is composed of dry mountains and basins, rivers flowing in narrow canyons, and some desert areas.
Pashtunistan has gained recognition from Russia, Iran, China, Pakistan, Hispaniola, and Marege.
