Amica.ai (Full name: Amica.ai, Inc.), also stylized as Amic(a).ai and pronounced as either Amica or Amicai, is an enterprise artificial intelligence software platform and applications company founded by Tăng Ngọc Hiển. It provides enterprise AI software to businesses from a variety of industries, which include energy, healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, retail. The company also provides AI solutions to government agencies and the military, with emphasis on intelligence analysis and maintenance operations, and one of its main competitors is White Orb Technologies.

With its versitility and relationship with the Quenminese government, Amic.ai is rendered one of the leading artificial intelligence companies in Quenmin and arguably, Tyran. Its customers include the Sanam Group, Hai Kieu, Bai Bien Ngao Municipal Authority, and the Royal and Imperial Quenminese Air and Oceanic Forces.

Etymology

Amic.ai's name originates from the Latin word amica, and was derived from Agave amica, the scientific name of tuberose. Hiển illustrated that he thought of the name while reading Trịnh Cẩm Nguyệt's botany guide Nurturing Plants at Home. It was the flower, its usage in perfume, and its last name translating to "friendly" in a feminine form that influenced his decision for the company’s name, and wanted his products to be the "perfume software for our [the company's] customers."

History

Founding (2009-2013)

After selling Bien Phu Systems to Helios Informatics for nearly ѧ1.5 billion, Hiển took to energy management and founded a company named "Amica Energy Management" to produce an enterprise software solution to streamline the process. Months later, in January 2010, the company secured a contract with the Van Lẩo Urban Power Authority, and subsequently, the surrounding towns and villages.

After gaining cognizance and realizing the potential and future growth of artificial intelligence and IoT, Hiển decided to integrate AI and IoT into operations of the company. In doing so, he renamed the company to “Amica Technologies” and laid off 100 employees, and kept the core engineering team to develop this operation.

In mid-2013, the company also partnered with the Haigia Urban Power Authority to sell its Energy Manangement enterprise software and test out the capabilities of AI and IoT.

Expansion (2014-2018)

In April 2014, Amica offered its services to Hai Kieu in June to promote efficient oil & gas operations. According to their 2014 end-of-year financial report, Amica gained a revenue of approximately ѧ256 million from this partnership.

In March 2016, Amica then expanded to financial services. Hiển and his executive and advisory boards held a conference in Bãi Biển Ngao with a focus on fraud detection, laundering prevention, securities lending, and CRM. Liễu Phúc Sinh (CPO) and Doãn Hoàng Lâm (CCO) gave keynote speeches. The venue gained over 1,000 attendees, including Vĩnh Thường Kiệt, CEO of UrbanBank, and Chu Mộng Vy, CEO of RedBag Retail. A month later, the company partnered with UrbanBank to develop and sell their anti-money laundering and fraud detection software named Finatergent. Estimates in revenue totaled ѧ220 million.

In September of the same year, Hiển renamed the company to “Amic.ai” in light of the expanding industries and further application of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

In March 2017, the company announced its their core product, the AI Development Suite, an enterprise platform designed for easing the development of AI applications. Later in August, the company expanded into the healthcare industry, even partnering with the Sanam Group to present its Suite for the conglomerate to integrate machine learning into their technology.

In November 2018, Amic.ai announced that it will provide services to Royal and Imperial Quenminese Aerial Force, and appointed retired Lt. Gen. Lý Nhất Tiến to serve on the Advisory Board.

Present-day leadership (2019-present)

In February 2019, the company appointed Vũ Văn Hoàn Nương as the new CTO to replace Đỗ Vương Gia who transferred to the Board of Directors, and expanded its advisory board to include Trịnh Quang Lộc, chief information officer at Yên Trầm Environmental Services, and Ngô Thế Sơn, former Vice Admiral in the Royal and Imperial Quenminese Oceanic Force.

On 15 December 2020, the company declared itself public company, and its stocks are currently traded on the Bo Dong Business Index.

Marketing

In August 2021, the company employed VTuber Amica Tuệ (Formal name: Amica.ai Human Representative "Tuệ" - Revision 2.1, according to latest revision of her avatar) as their marketing mascot. The motion was proposed by Doãn Hoàng Lâm, who intended to attract a younger audience to their services. Hiển and most of the company leadership received it warmly, and consequently, during the month before Tuệ's debut stream, a discussion was held on the avatar and voice actor. Hiển suggested a middle-aged female adult, but was overruled by the decision to use a younger-aged female. CTO Nương humorously stated that "having a female VTuber should win over the hearts of young male programmers...If she were middle-aged, a few of them or none at all would watch her."

Tuệ streams demonstrations of the company's products and Q&A sessions, apart from Let's Plays and non-company related chat streams. One of her popular streams was her personal project using the Finatergent application for a simulation involving a fictional anime company.

When asked of the risqué content mentioned in her streams and the artwork in similar mood produced, Hiển replied “Unsettling they may be, especially for myself, but everyone’s got their freedom. However, our company knows to keep a limit on these vices.”
