Aotearoa, officially the United Tribes of Aotearoa (Maori: Nga Iwi Kotahitanga a Aotearoa), is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It shares marine border with Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. The country's varied topography and sharp mountain peaks, including the Southern Alps, owe much to tectonic uplift and volcanic eruptions. Aotearoa's capital city is Waitangi, and its current Prime Minister is Tahiwai Wirihana.
