Abélard Haillet (Given name: Attakullakulla Haillet), was a métis serving Gaullica during the War of Haillet's Finger which is of his namesake. Having reached the rank of captain, Haillet was placed in command of the Gaullican 32-gun frigate Mytikas, stationed in the Arucian Sea, and was subsequently assaulted by Raglanese privateers. Losing a finger in conflict, he clamoured for compensation to the Gaullican court. When Raglan refused to comply, war was waged. Haillet served in the war under the command of Admiral Montefort until he was given command of a small flotilla of vessels destined to encircle New Herfast.
At the war's end he was paid 1,230 sköldar from the Raglanese crown, which he used to purchase himself a farmstead in the Viceroyalty of New Gaullica. He spent the rest of his life in retirement, save for expeditions he took easterly in search of new land to claim for the Gaullican crown.
