Olivier F. Martin is the current Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Roeselle. Born in Constantine in the year 1962, Chancellor Martin has been a popular public figure since his early speeches as Consul of the 7th district of Franciania such as his 1997 speech that helped push a universal healthcare bill through the consul and later in 2001 a speech that convinced the Federalist Party to reconsider their position on revitalizing space exploration leading to an increase in funding of the Roessan Department of Space Travel and Sciences, however, his time as regional governor of Franciania led to vast reforms such as the legalization of gay marriage, labor rights, gun regulations (though no gun bans), and after he implemented his public works project called "Progress for the People" that helped employ poverty stricken citizens of the region while also repairing infrastructure, he rose to national fame winning a re-election and proving well prepared for a christian fundamentalist revolt in the poorer slums of eastern Franciania. His ability to contain the situation while still protecting all involved again strengthened those views of him as a strong leader. After leaving his second term as governor of Franciania he was appointed Secretary of the national Gendarmerie by his predecessor Chancellor Josephe , a Federalist who saw value in allowing him to be a part of the cabinet. In the 2012 elections and after a corruption scandal in the Federalist Party involving the Department of Agriculture was uncovered, Secretary of the National Gendarmerie resigned from his position and ran against the incumbent during his re-election bid winning with 51.63% of the vote, the first majority in Roessan history due to it having five significant parties.
