Plot
Alex Lucas lives in the Dellagard Hills District of Forever, Timeria a suburban middle-class neighborhood. Alex and his wife Veronica have a daughter together and live a pretty happy life. As Alex heads to work his wife Veronica takes their daughter to school before stopping at a grocery store. While parking she takes out a camera and takes a picture of a woman in a restaurant across the street. After this, she leaves and drops her daughter off, and heads to work as a Timerian Federal Agent. It is revealed that Veronica is currently investigating the mayor as she is believed to be involved in a number of high-profile rezonings and redevelopment projects. After a day at the office, Veronica heads home and picks up their daughter early from school. The two arrive at home and the viewer can see that they are being followed. As Veronica settles in at home she hears a suspicious noise at her back door, as she goes to check she is ambushed by two armed assailants. The men beat her badly before she manages to getaway. As she tries to run away another intruder grabs her daughter before she can reach her and shoots Veronica. As Veronica continues to charge forward to rescue her daughter the two scuffle for the gun before it is discharged and the bullet strikes her daughter. Veronica loses consciousness and soon dies from blood loss.
As Alex arrives at home he is shocked by what he sees and calls the police. It is later announced that both his daughter and wife were dead. A few days later Alex is considered the primary suspect and taken into custody. Everyone turns their back on Alex and soon he is changed with the murders. During the trial, a lot of strange things take place such as Alex having trouble finding a lawyer, how fast the case was moving, and there seemed to be a cover-up of some evidence. Alex is found guilty and sentenced to death by the judge.
After a year in prison, Alex has grown accustomed to his new life, while he has yet to accept the death of his wife and daughter he has embraced his impending doom. One night as Alex is sleeping a guard stops by and opens his cell. Alex is confused as the guard tosses in a change of clothes and a note. “Veronica and Vanessa deserve justice. Wear these underneath and meet in the freezer.” Alex read the note and quickly disposed of it a bit confused. The next morning Alex was to work in the cafeteria and as soon as he got there he went to the freezer. After waiting a few minutes he started to get nervous before someone broke through the cooling unit. A man in a wheelchair and a woman introduced themselves as Dr. Leonard and Dr. Casey. Alex quickly followed them to an exit where they entered an empty police van.
While riding back to Forever the two tried to explain the situation to Alex. They knew of Mayor Cindy Coin’s corruption and that she was being investigated by Veronica. The two had been looking into it for years and were contacts of Veronica. This confession only angered Alex and as he tried to force his way from the van Dr. Casey injected Alex with a sedative.
As the group arrived at their base Alex was tied down and the pair waited for him to awake. Once he awoke the two explained the situation to him and how they were ready to take down Mayor Coin. Alex questioned if they had everything they needed why they hadn’t started the plan earlier before the death of his wife and daughter. Dr. Leonard reveals that he knows Alex’s military history and that he used to work for a defense contractor. Before he dedicated his life to fighting corruption his wife had been killed and he was paralyzed from the waist down to give up top-secret documents. Dr. Casey had been on the run for 6 years obtaining documents that a pharma company had knowingly poisoned residence. They needed someone to operate The Eagle suit.
The Eagle suit was a high-tech piece of armor that gave the user the ability to fly, super strength, and an assortment of weapons. They needed Alex’s military knowledge and he was the perfect person for the job. Over the course of a few weeks, the group began training Alex to use the armor and small surveillance on Mayor Coin. The group began to grow close especially Alex and Dr. Casey. One day while talking Dr. Casey revealed that they had previously asked Veronica if she knew someone with the skillset to help them and she had said no. If Dr. Leonard was right about Alex’s military background he would have been the perfect candidate. Alex then revealed that Veronica didn’t know the extent of his military training he told her he only worked in signal intelligence. At this point, he realizes he could have saved them if he had only been honest and transparent from the start. This leads to a bit of a downward spiral for Alex and he falls off on his training as he starts to drink more. One day while watching TV Alex sees Mayor Coin on the news promising to find him, the murderer on the loose. This infuriates Alex and he drunkenly makes his way to The Eagle suit. As he gears up preparing to go kill Mayor Coin Dr. Casey quickly stops him. As Alex tries to leave Dr. Casey talks him out of it promising that in a week they’ll go after her and then she asks him when was the last time he’d been out. She promises to take him out for a night in the town once his name is cleared. He agrees and training resumes.
As the night approaches it’s become more evident that Alex has developed a drinking problem. As Dr, Leonard goes over the plan he explains how Alex will have to accomplish everything in one night. The team also agrees that Alex will not drink leading up to the night. The night before the heist Alex has to do some prep work which will give him a chance to test out the suit in a real situation. Dr. Leonard reveals that he has the location of the assailants that killed his but Alex must keep them alive if they are to clear his name and hold Mayor Coin accountable. Alex hesitantly agrees but understands that he can’t lose his cool. As Alex flies to the target location he encounters small problems that they note need tuning. Once their Alex burst in ignoring the plan set by Dr. Leonard. The men shoot at Alex but the suit deflects the bullets and Alex grabs also three and restrain them. While Dr. Leonard and Dr. Casey are on the way to grab the men Alex starts to interrogate them, the men are quick to reveal everything to Alex as they are shocked by the power of the suit. As Dr. Leonard and Dr. Casey arrive they load the men into the van and return to base.
The night of the operation to take down Mayor Coin Dr. Casey delivered the hitmen to a police station in downtown Forever and notified the news of their confession. Within minutes the press was lined up outside the station waiting for a statement. Mayor Coin was quickly notified and headed to her office. As the Mayor left her home Alex looked from a neighboring rooftop with hatred. As Dr. Leonard spoke to him through comms he instructed Alex to stay calm and stay on mission. As the Mayor left Alex broke into her home to search for the evidence they needed. Once inside Alex searched through her home office for the files Dr. Leonard instructed him to collect. As he broke open the safe he found a number of documents and flash drives. As he worked on getting the information to Dr. Leonard a bullet bounced off of his armor. As he looked up standing in the doorway was Mayor Coin’s husband. He stood up and approached the man towering over him and asked if he knew what kind of politician his wife was. The older man trembled and had no idea what Alex was talking about. Alex quickly tied the man up and resumed sending the information to Dr. Leonard. Soon police sirens could be heard outside and Alex quickly left flying through a window.
At Mayor Coin’s office, the team worked on damage control as more information leaked on Coin’s corruption and dirty biddings. Once the information had gotten to the media and the hitman evidence that Alex had nothing to do with his wife and daughter’s death was released, Coin tried to escape the city. As she packed some things in her office and grabbed a bag from her safe she could hear gunshots from the lobby. Her head of security was a dirty private contractor and had a number of illegal weapons stashed away. As Coin watched on the camera’s she could see that attacker was in an advanced suit of armor. As she made her way to the roof she ordered her security to stop him.
On the 30th floor, Alex fought with Coin’s security, using his suit to dispatch them with ease Coin’s head of security grabbed a rocket launcher and fired it at Alex. This destroyed the majority of his suit and he fled to the roof. Once on the roof Coin began to fire at him with a handgun as Alex closed the distance he revealed his identity to Coin who mocked him and his family. As Coin attempted to reload Alex ambushed her and tossed the gun away from her. As Coin began to surrender Alex grabbed her and punched her as he pulled her along. Once at the edge of the building, he whispered his wife and daughter’s name before tossing her from the 45th floor.
As police arrived Alex was arrested and held without bond. There is then a time skip to Alex’s trial where the jury finds him not guilty on all charges except breaking and entering to which the judge sentences him to 2 years. Once inside Dr. Casey comes to visit him and talks to him about their future after he is released. Following the credits, there is a special scene that shows Alex being taken to an empty cell. Later two inmates rush in and the three begin to fight before the movie cuts out.
