Ball de Contrarapide, commonly known as simply Contrarapide, is a Jumbosan team sport. It is played between two teams of 10 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by throwing the ball into the other team's goals from outside the goalkeeper's zone(2 points) or by passing the ball to a player that is behind the last player on the opposing team(1 point). The latter method is only allowed if both the thrower and the catcher are in the offensive zone.
Players advance the Contrarapide ball up the field with a combination of carrying and hand-passing. In the game, you can get a point in two ways: either by throwing the ball into the other team's goals, signalled by the Scorekeeper raising a green flag, or by passing the ball to a player that is behind the last player on the opposing team, which signalled by the Scorekeeper raising a blue flag. Positions in Contrarapide are zone based and are divided into offensive, defensive and Central. Every team has 10 players, where 5 positions need to be non offensive and 5 positions need to be non defensive.
Contrarapide is mainly played on the islands of Jumbosa, although units of the International Contrarapide Association exist in [[Quetana]], [[Maniban]] and [[Toyana]].Outside of Jumbosa is Contrarapide mainly played among members of the Jumbosan diaspora. Three major football competitions operate throughout the year: the National Contrarapide League and the Three Star Championship operate on an inter-county or an etat federal basis, while the Contrarapide Cup is contested by individual clubs. The National Contrarapide League is considered the most prestigious event in Gaelic football.
