The Minarchist Coalition (Basaquese: Koalîsyona Minarşîst), also known colloquially as Koamin, is a political party in Liberto-Ancapistan. Currently a 'secondary major party' within the Liberto-Ancapistanian political system, it governed the country between 2000 and 2020. The Minarchist Coalition has been led since its foundation by Ameus Grey, who acted as Chancellor in 2000 and President of the Executive Council of Liberto-Ancapistan between 2000 and 2020.
The party's ideology dates back to the Ultra-Radical Movement, a grouping of confederalist liberals active during the Summer Revolution, but the Minarchist Coalition itself dates back to the 'principled independents' active during the 1990-2000 Rand government. These consisted of independent right-wing politicians who did not join the governing Libertarian Party in protest of its more statist, centralising policies and corruption. At their peak in the late 1990s, over 120 principled independent MPs were in parliament. In 1999, the Rand government suffered a spate of major scandals, and in response many principled independents began working towards forming a united right-wing anti-Rand party. This eventually took the form of the Minarchist Coalition in September 1999. In the 2000 general election, the Minarchist Coalition under Ameus Grey won a landslide victory and became the party of government.
During government, the Coalition pursued a large number of constitutional and economic reforms, including most notably the abolition of the Chancellorship and creation of the Executive Council of Liberto-Ancapistan, and the regular use of legislative referendums. For the next two decades, the party continued its electoral success but was increasingly hindred in government by a hostile Senate and minority-Minarchist Executive Council. After the anti-austerity protests of 2019 and subsequent arrest of Executive Councillor Andreas Capelle, the Minarchist Coalition lost the 2020 general election. Since then, it has continued to lose seats at every election, and was severely reduced in the Senate in 2025. Later that year, a failed attempt to oust Ameus Grey from the leadership resulted in the breakaway of several MPs, many of whom went on to found PILM.
The Minarchist Coalition pursues strongly ideological right-wing policies, with the intention of establishing a nightwatchman state directed by a collective leadership and regular referendums. Additionally, it supports diplomatic neutrality and demilitarisation in favour of a large nuclear deterrent. Shortly after its inception, the Coalition was known for its strong commitment to party democracy, though in later years and especially after the party left government long-time leader Ameus Grey has been increasingly accused of having "dictatorial" control over party affairs. The party is vehemently anti-UFT, and has included commitments to immediately leave the alliance in all election manifestos since Liberto-Ancapistan joined the organisation.
