The Fuso Army (扶桑軍 Fuso-Rikugun) is the land-warfare branch of the Fuso Armed Forces, is and the de facto army of Fuso. It was formed in July 12, 1950, which replaced the Imperial Fusoese Army. The Army operates under the command of the chief of the army staff, based in the city of Itogaya, Shojyuku, Edo. It currently has over 422,000 active personnel since 2018. The Fuso Army is tasked for the defense of the Fusoese islands and it's interests from across the globe, including it's allies.
History
The effects of the Intercontinental War rapidly exhausted much of Fuso's military, and an eventual collapse of the Imperial Government allowed a non-violent sweep that caused changes throughout the country including the military. After the reformation of it's armed forces, the Fuso Army is the first branch of the armed forces that was formed, and was quickly put into combat readiness when the Khosun War broke out. The Fuso Army has never since been deployed overseas till the early 90s, where it was deployed for tactical and logistics aid during a civil war on the west of the continent.
The role of the army continues to expand further, especially in the rise of North Khosun and Huang stepped up efforts for initiatives to counter future threats coming from them.
Current deployment
Personnel
Basic training for lower-secondary and upper-secondary academy graduates began in the training brigade and lasted approximately three months. Specialized enlisted and non-commissioned officer (NCO) candidate courses were available in branch schools and qualified NCOs could enter an eight-to-twelve-week officer candidate program. Senior NCOs and graduates of an eighty-week NCO polit course were eligible to enter officer candidate schools, as were graduates of the National Defense Academy at Yosuke and graduates of all four-year universities. Specialized courses, such as advanced technical, flight, medical and command and staff officer courses were also run by the Fuso Army. Like the other branches of the armed forces, the Fuso Army ran a youth cadet program offering technical training to lower-secondary school graduates below military age in return for a promise of enlistment, which is based on a western, modern day JROTCs.
Due to the high density and urbanization of the Fusoese islands, especially in the mainland, most large-scale trainings are held at the southeast island of Koshou, with some in the mainland being used but with extensive noise restrictions. Overtime, the Fuso Army has adapted to these conditions by conducting command post exercises, map maneuvers, investing in simulators and other training programs, as well as participating in overseas military exercises and training at locations such as the Maurinet Training Center in Amerria.
