The Autelian Royal Family is the family of the Monarch of Autelia.

A distinction is made in Autelia between the royal family and the Royal House.

The royal family includes people born into the family (and legally recognised as such) or who have married into the family. However, not every member of the royal family is a member of the Royal House.

By Act of Parliament, the members of the Royal House are:

  • the monarch (King or Queen);
  • the former monarch (on abdication);
  • the members of the royal family in the line of succession to the throne who are not further removed to the monarch than the third degree of consanguinity;
  • the spouses of the above.

Members of the Royal House can lose their membership and designation as prince or princess of Autelia if they marry without the consent of the Autelian Parliament. This is written down explicitly in the part of the constitution of Autelia that controls the Monarchy of Autelia.
