Operation: LIGHTBRIGHT is the continued ongoing Skandar surveillance, reconnaissance, observation and protection of the Southern Hemisphere, especially the Antarctic Continent. The operation is continuously maintained by the 99th Skandar Tactical Arctic Group. Started in 1981 as long range reconnaissance and defense from over-the-poll ICBM launches, the operation grew into a widespread defense of Skandar controlled latitudes in the south.

Presently, the operation is supported and sustained by some 64 radar stations in four different nations, including 12 over-the-horizion long range systems 10,310,540 square kilometers.
