Elihu Saing is a Qolaysian politician and lawyer who currently serves as the President of Qolaysia, having succeeded Nizaam bin Aayid after his passing on 30 July 2022. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of Qolaysia, a position he held since being elected in 2016. He also served as the Minister of Defense from 2008-16, and he had been an MP of the People's Consultative Assembly from 1987. As an MP, he also served as the Ambassador to the Coalition of Crown Albatross from 2003-2006. A member of the Progressive Qolaysian Party, he was a firm opponent of President Abiel Kennard despite being the government's second-in-command. Upon Kennard's loss to Nizaam bin Aayid in 2022, Saing became the leader of the PQP in his capacity of Vice-President. He maintained the leadership as President.
Born and raised in the city of Banhi in 1961, Saing's parents Hussein and Suhailah were local politicians who sat on the city's governance board. Elihu attended the University of Bennom Law School and became a prosecutor. He also studied in Zamastan at the Tofino School of Economics. Elihu is married to actress Marsilla Lengku Saing and the couple has four children.
