Kalandra, officially the Republic of Kalandra (Indonesian : Republik Kalandra), is a country in the Pacific ocean.
History
Geography
Climate
The United Pacific States has an oceanic climate in its Northern edge towards the Antes-UP border, but from the California border towards the Toluca–UP border the climate is Mediterranean. The coastline sees significantly mild temperatures during summer. In far Northern California there is a difference of 17 °C (30 °F) between Eureka and Willow Creek in spite of only 25 miles (40 km) separating the locations and Willow Creek being located at a 500 metres (1,600 ft) elevation. Slightly narrower fluctuations can be seen all through the coastline, and could partially be explained by the cold currents in the Pacific Ocean moderating coastal temperatures and the mountain ranges blocking the maritime air from moving farther inland than its foothills during summer. Coastal fog is also prevalent in keeping shoreline temperatures cool. This does not only occur in the southern parts with very little yearly temperature differences but with cool summers similar to those expected in Northern Europe.
Environment
The UP has 16 national parks, ranging from volcanoes in Hawaii to canyons in mainland. The United Pacific States also has 7 marine sanctuaries.
Politics and Government
Military
The President holds the title of commander-in-chief of the nation's armed forces and appoints its leaders. The United Pacific Department of Defense administers the armed forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force. The Coast Guard is run by the Department of Homeland Security in peacetime and by the Department of Defense during times of war.
Foreign Relations
The United Pacific has remained neutral in the American conflict. This neutrality gives United Pacific a chance to broaden it's foreign relation. The United Pacific currently has 11 embassies, and 1 Permanent Mission in APSIA Headquarter, making it a nation with the most diplomatic mission in the world. United Pacific pledges to defend democracy, peace, and stability throughout the world.
Economy
Energy
The United Pacific is among the highest electrical energy consumer in the world.
As a result of the strong environmental movement, United Pacific has some of the most aggressive renewable energy goals. Currently, several solar power plants such as the Solar Energy Generating Systems facility are located in the Mojave Desert. Several dams across the state provide hydro-electric power.
Infrastructure
Science and Technology
The invention of the transistor in the 1950s, is one of the most important invention that led a technological boom in the United Pacific.. This, in turn, led to the establishment of many new technology companies and regions around the country. The first of a series of networks developed in United Pacific evolved into the Internet.

Education
Education is started as early as the baby was born. To foster a culture of reading, parents of newborn babies are given three books - one for each parent, and a baby book for the child - as part of the "maternity package". Early childhood education is not mandatory in United Pacific, but is used by almost everyone. The preschool teaches children mainly about discipline, reading, writing, and manners. Kindergarten in United Pacific is aimed to grow the children's creativity. The compulsory educational system in United Pacific consists of a nine-year comprehensive school from 1st to 9th grade, from the ages of 7 to 16 , in which attendance is mandatory. (Homeschooling is allowed, but rare). There are no "gifted" programs, and the more advanced children are expected to help those who are slower to catch on Elementary school starts at the age of seven, and it consists of 6 grades. Both primary and secondary teachers must have a master's degree to qualify. Teaching is a respected profession and entrance to university programs is highly competitive. A prospective teacher must have very good grades and must combat fierce opposition in order to become a teacher. Teachers are seen as a really honorary job.
More than 30% of tertiary graduates are in science-related fields. Forest improvement, materials research, environmental sciences, neural networks, low-temperature physics, brain research, biotechnology, genetic technology, and communications showcase fields of study where Pacifican researchers have had a significant impact. In addition, 41 percent of United Pacific's population has a university or college degree, which is among the highest percentages in the world, as university is free for everyone.
