The United Liberalist Party is a political party in Ornivia and is the main political party advocating for Liberalism in Ornivia. It can trace its roots to political and philosophical thought before the Great Ornivian War. Liberals were the most influential advocates for the end of nationalism and militaristic policies, and the establishment of greater civil liberties and greater democratic rule in the nations within the Ornivian region. Liberalism and its proponent groups were usually suppressed by the various nations within the Ornivian region, and Liberalism was, by the late 19th century, mostly underground.
The majority of the Spring of Ornivia was an explosion in support for Liberal values, many of the Liberal parties found today throughout the member-states were established during or after this period, set up in order to establish Liberal values of Democracy and the Rule of Law in their nation-states. These parties were also the most vocal in their support for an Ornivia Federation, and as such the parties in 2010 formed a Federative Party ahead the Treaty of Federation in 2015.
The Party does have some minority ideas that stem away from New Liberalism, but when compared to other political parties the differences are less defined, only becoming evident when Classical Liberals clash with the most Left Wing of the Party. Their position as a centre, centre-left party allows them to find allies in both the Conservatives and Progressives. The Liberalists are the largest party of Ornivia, and due to their position and popularity, they will most likely continue to be the main party of Ornivia, and will most likely be the primary government party for the foreseeable future.
