It was written and directed by Janie Dogo and Samson Perreault and shot entirely within Carucere on a limited budget. The movie tells the history of Carucere from 1935 to 1955 as told from the perspective of a {{wp|personification}} of the [[Carrefour Stars]] baseball team. The movie's title is a reference to the team's nickname due to the team's logo resembling an eye.

Firstworld is set in the distant future, where humanity is spread across the galaxy but cannot travel or communicate {{wp|Faster-than-light|faster than the speed of light}}, thus  planets and star systems are isolated from each other. The novel follows the story of Bradward Baia, who lives on a planet in one of these isolated solar systems, whose world is recovering from an apocalyptic event and the resulting technological and societal collapse.
