An Ilyushin-76T, owned by the 184th supply squadron of the Salamati Airforce, from [[Narqa Military Airport]] in destination to [[Douara-Thalathi Military Airport]], took off at around 6:10 pm local time on February 16 1990. The plane crashed 2 and a half minutes after taking off, due to a fire on the right wing of the plane, which spread to an engine. The pilot managed to avoid the highway and crashed in a field at about 1 kilometer east of El Hayah. The 22 passengers died.
