First Lady of Besmenia is an informal designation customarily applied to the wife of the president of Besmenia. The First Lady has no mention in the Basic Law and therefore no political significance and exercises a strictly ceremonial role. Despite this, she often plays a protocol role at the Traisenbach Palace and during official visits. The First Lady sometimes accompanies her husband on formal occasions such as state visits. To date, there has been no first gentleman of Besmenia.
The current first lady of Besmenia is Beate von Schilling. She has been the first lady since 5 April 2021 as wife of President Vincent von Schilling.
