Jakob Gordon Malingen, known as Gord Malinkobu is a Yoganian author, writer and poet born in 1854 in Goyendel, Buryako, Yogania and died in 1921 in Yocopo. He is best known for writing "Yol Bard Burgumman" ("The Red Butcher") in 1898. He was one of the most famous Yoganian writers of the 19th century.

Early life and education

Jakob Gordon Malingen was born on 25 November 1854 in Goyendel, Buryako, Yogania. He was the first-born son of Gudsol (née Jolston) and Burgory Malingen, also a writer. He started writing at 12 or 13 years old according to various sources. He went to the University of Byrendan in Yocopo to study literature. While in Yocopo he made various acquaintances, including Burgory Willenjom.

Career

His first book was Garaltug, published in 1878, the story of a homeless widow roaming through the streets.

He began working on his most famous novel, The Red Butcher in 1896, after returning to his hometown from Yocopo. The story was inspired by the 1889 Burjelak murders. It was published in 1898 after 3 years of work. It became popular very quickly, and is still studied in Yoganian schools today.

Personal life

Gord Malinkobu never married or had children. He never talked about his personal views in any of his works, so there are not many sources regarding that.
