The Liberals (Hverlandic: Liberalts; L) is a classically liberal political party in Hverland. The party supports civil liberties, free trade, and internationalism. It currently has 27 seats in the Folktingi. The party has drifted more towards the centre-left in recent years, distinguishing themselves from the Social Democrats and Social Liberals. For example, after the Social Democrats passed an unpopular tax bill in 2006, the party has firmly pushed economic liberalism and has aligned itself closely to the promotion of free markets and privatization. It is strongly opposed to political and internet censorship. The party also supports socially liberal policies like LGBT equality.
