Calamana or Cedad Rial di Calamana as its original name is, is the capital and largest city of Gadonia province and fifth largest city in the country, with a population of 772,519 inhabitants and a metropolitan area of 1,359,192 inhabitants. It is located where the Calamana River meets the Jualayas River in the south of Mygona and in the far west of Gadonia province. The city enjoys a continental climate with hot, dry summers and wet, snowy winters.
History
Founded in the 14th century by ranchers in search of new lands for raising cattle, Calamana grew and developed thanks to cattle ranching, with this activity still the basis of its economy, Calamana also came to develop thanks to industrialization in the end of the century as it was one of the few cities in the country that had not been destroyed by civil war.
Etimology
Calamana is named after a breed of cattle very common in Mygona.
Its official name Cedad Rial de Calamana is due to the royal title of the second son of the reigning monarch, Duke or Duchess of Calamana, currently this title belongs to the queen's daughter, Princess Amarina, Duchess of Calamana.
