Córdoba formally the Democratic People's Republic of Córdoba is a country located in South America, consisting in the former Córdoba Province, in Argentina, from which it secedeed in 2007, although it is not recognized by this last nation and most of the countries.

History

It was firstly inhabited by Inca-influenced indigenous peoples, like comechingones (two kin ethnicities, hênîa and kâmîare), sanavirones and diaguitas, this last ones coming from neighbouring places. To the arrival of the Europeans, this peoples were severely reduced, and started a process of assimilation and conversion to Christianity.

Geography

Córdoba is mostly plain except for the northern mountain ranges, known in Spanish as Sierras de Córdoba. This mountains doesn't have a very considerable height.

Climate

Climate in Córdoba is generally temperate, with very hot and humid summers and dry cool or warm winters depending on the location. During late summer, the occurrence of severe and harmful thunderstorms is common.
