| Gewirk was born in Sophene, [[Administrative divisions of Iotopha#Regions|Ranya SR]], to a middle class family. His father was a doctor, and [[Revolutionary Workers' Party (Iotopha)|PKS]] party member. His mother was of Jhilam descent, and died during the failed 1984 [[Ranya Invasion]]. He and his father immigrated to [[Seredinia]] in 1986, eventually settling in the working class South Valley district of Zolodolina. In 1999, he was naturalized a Seredinian citizen, though he never attained Kaselian citizenship.

| Gewirk was educated in Zolodolinan-based public schools throughout his childhood. He earned a degree in {field} from the Royal University in Saint-Nazaire, in 2002. While at UR-SN, he was a member of the university's chapter of the [[Vannoisian Socialist Party]] (PSV). He was also a member of the debate club, and played for the university's football team.

| In 2001, Gewirk volunteered for the campaign of [[Maximilien Astier]] in what would become his bid to earn the premiership of [[Vannois]]. In 2004, he served as campaign manager for future Seredinian Premier [[Marlène Astier]], during her first election to the Vannoisian [[Estates-General of Vannois|Estates-General]]. Gewirk would go on to serve as an advisor for Astier throughout her tenure as a Deputy. He again served as her campaign chief in 2012, eventually leading her to become Prime Minister of Vannois by July 2012.

| In October 2012, Gewirk returned to [[Iotopha]], for what he would eventually refer to as <nowiki>"a calling of fate"</nowiki> during his 2016 Tisfun gubernatorial run. He announced his intention to stand for [[Assembly of the People (Iotopha)|Assembly]] in January 2013 as a list member of [[Freedom and Solidarity]]. He was elected to the Assembly for the constituency of Tisfun 1 in April 2013. He did not stand for election ahead of the 2016 assembly election, and did not retain his seat.

| In November 2015, Gewirk announced his candidacy for Governor of Tisfun province. Gewirk ran as an independent, but aligned himself with gubernatorial candidates in other provinces in a loose coalition that would later become the [[Citizens United]] political party.

| On election day, Gewirk was polling in second place behind the incumbent [[Revolutionary Workers' Party (Iotopha)|PKS]] governor Daraz Begzadeh. Gewirk would defeat Daraz Begzadeh by a 7-point margin.

| Gewirk declined to run for [[President of Iotopha|president]] in the [[Iotophan presidential election, 2019|2019 election]]. He was re-elected governor on 20 March 2019.
