New Shorts officially the People's Republic of New Shorts is a country located in North America and comprised of 61 counties and one Capital District. The capital city is Albany and the largest city is New Shorts Metropolitan Area.
Geography
Climate
With some little exceptions, the climate in New Shorts is classified as humid subtropical (Cfa) with evenly distributed precipitation all year round. Winters are cool and drier than spring and summer. In Albany, the temperatures are cool during winter and warm to hot (due to humidity) during summer. July is the warmest month and December is the coolest.

Government
Government in New Shorts encompasses three branches: Executive is represented by the President and the Vice-President, directly elected by the people for a four year term without term limits. Since 1990, the current President in office is Macaulay Culkin, who changes the Vice-President for each election and is elected uncontested. The Legislature is represented by the Great National People's Legislature, which is unicameral and comprises of 124 representatives, that is, two representatives per county and the capital district. The system is unipartidist, only one party has the right to present candidates. The Judiciary is the responsible to ensure compliance with the law and its interpretation. The highest court nationally is the Court of Appeals, consisting in seven judges.
