The Davion Steel Group, abbreviated DSG, is a Cacertian producer of steel and steel related products based out of Fumicino, Cacerta. It is one of the largest steel-producing companies in Tyran and directly supplies the materials to the majority of Cacerta’s shipbuilding industry. Although the company is headquartered in Fumicino, it possesses steel mill manufacturing facilities throughout the nation including a handful of overseas facilities.

DSG has its roots in 1587 when Vagnia Davion, a member of a cadet branch of House Davion, moved to the city of Ilerda and joined the merchants’ guild there. She worked primarily as a broker and eventually became one of the richest and most affluent members of Ilerda’s upper society. Her investments led her to found the original Davion Ironworks which began producing small arms which were sold throughout the Cacertian archipelago. The company began producing smelted steel in the early 1700s which provided the foundation to the eventual steel empire that the company would eventually become.

The company’s steel has been used in the construction of many of Cacerta’s largest and most famed structures. It also played a pivotal role in the manufacture of warships and military arms used during the Siduri War. Over a thousand warships were built during the conflict using steel made by the Davion Steel Group and many historians cite DSG’s ability to quickly produce military-grade steel as a decisive factor in the Common Axis eventual victory.

DSG continues to be a major component in Cacerta’s industrial economy and has since adapted its technologies to accommodate for the changes in supply regarding raw materials in the modern era. While the company still operates a handful of blast furnace equipped integrated mills, it has mostly converted its facilities to minimills that utilize electic arc furnace technology.
