History

Competition format

Regular competiton

The current format of the League is based on a tri-annual season schedule. Each year 3 championship titles are handed out, one each for the spring, summer, and fall seasons. The team with the most wins in a given season wins the championship and earns themselves a spot in the Nelbec Championship.

The seasonal format is a double round robin, with each team playing each other once totalling 11 games. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. If still equal, teams are deemed to occupy the same position. If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation, or for qualification to other competitions, the head-to-head record between the tied teams is taken into consideration

Promotion and relegation

At the end of each season, two teams are relegated out of the league and replaced by the through one of two ways. The first qualifier (to replace the team that finished 11th) is the winner of the Holgensor Cup, a tournament between the Nelbourn's domestic leagues. The last-placed team is replaced by their domestic league's most recent champion. This system also allows for the league's national composition to change over time.
