Summary
Europe (1700s)
• Unification of Germany and Unification of Italy takes place much earlier
• Ottomans are driven out of the Balkans by Russia and the region turns into a constant back and forth battleground between Serbia and Romania (backed by Russia), Bulgaria, Greece (backed by Italy) and Hungary (backed by Germany)
• Scramble for Africa begins with the Italian Invasion of Ottoman North Africa (France and Britain would later intervene against the Ottomans which would relegate them to the Arabian Peninsula) which prompts increased Spanish and Portuguese expansion of their already established African territories
