The Commissions are the four specialised legislative bodies of Mel-akkam. Each is composed of ten members, one elected from each province, and has authority over one area of governance (social affairs, economics, justice, or foreign affairs). Each is led by a President, customarily the member for Mohenjo-daro Province. The commissions are elected twice annually, on the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes.
