Operation Red Storm
Background
In 1929 the MIA conducted a raid upon a warehouse in Seafort Harbour after a dock worker reported suspicious activities inside when the agents broke in they discovered some workers in the process of loading crates of contraband into a van for transport, the workers were promptly arrested then interrogated for their criminal connections and who their buyer was which the workers told the agents that there was a plot against the government from suspected communists who were planning to start an uprising in the near future to overthrow the current regime.
Mid-Operation
This information alarmed the Fresian government and in 1931 authorized Operation Red Storm whose objective was take down the Communists and other radical ideals meaning that they would need to either imprison or kill many suspected radicals that they’ve been monitoring for some time, the agency captured and interrogated more suspects before they came across intelligence about a planned meetings between left-extremists and decided to crackdown on anyone who attends. During the preparation for this raid an MIA agent was captured and interrogated by members of the Worker’s Militia for the whole plot causing several left-wing militants to march into Gedachtenis where they clashed with local police successfully driving the MIA forces out of the city where then the army was called into the city to quell the unrests which lasted for 2 weeks straight where the militants were able to withdraw in good order.
Aftermath
After the rebellion was crushed the MIA was handed over control of the policing in all effected areas of rebellious acts which the agency was allowed access to military units and equipment in order to help quell anymore unrests in the streets and countryside, this shift of power towards the MIA allowed the Massacre of Gedachtenis to take place where the Military Intelligence Agency dragged out a few dozen suspected communist sympathizers to organize a demonstration through public execution.
