Daemon Tiretiera Kilo or Daemon V (12 June 137 - 22 December 222) was the last King of the Faelo Kingdom, reigning from 24th of August 191 - 30th October 197. Daemon was the last Faelin to have the title of King, and would surrender to Nova Solarius on 25th of October 197, but retained that the Kilo Dynasty would keep governing the islands of Faesol and Daegol after the defeat. He would retire his position out of humiliation but was still widely respected by his people as not letting the Solarians destroy the culture of Faelins and Daegos. During the later years of his life, he traveled around Nova Solarius giving speeches and writing poems to crowds of thousands. He wrote the Epic King of Nothing a widely acclaimed poem that is taught in schools around the world.
Early Life
Born to Vakus III and Adiline of Faelo on June 12, 137 in the Palace of Grásta. At the age of two, he was sent to be raised by his mother's family, who were low-born people, in the village of Cauriade. During his time in Cauriade, he spent time with people of low status, playing games, studying, and hanging out with them. Daemon soon grew respectful of the people that he would one day rule. He often begged his grandparents to help with their gardening and get food from the market, often to just explore the village. At the age of 5, he was schooled by the locals but by 10 years old, he was sent a tutor by his Grandfather, Vakus II. Daemon refused to be tutored unless the whole town could earn the same privileges. So, the whole village was tutored by scholars and learned the same as Daemon would.
Teenage Years
At the age of 13, Daemon was finishing his school work, when a severe thunderstorm came onto the village. With flooding imminent, he rushed to save the elderly and the children on pre-made rafts for he and his friends. In this effort, he saved 50 people, with only 2 that died in the Thunderstorm. Daemon was rewarded the Medal of Saviors, with being the youngest receiver of the reward.
At the age of 14, on the 21st of September 151, Daemon walked into a local shop and was met with a robbery. The robbers saw the Prince, seeing the profit they would get, they took him prisoner. This news circulated all the way to the Fais, with King Vakus II sending a patrol to find the missing Prince. According to Daemon's biography, he was "Tortured til no end, but my captors had feed me greatly to ensure I survive. Right after they whipped me, they would bandage me back up. Soon, half my body was bandaged up. I felt like the a mummy in the bandage." By the 24th of September, the Faelin Patrols found the hideout and sieged it. With only five of the Captors in the cave, they surrender the Daemon to the patrol. Both his grandfather and father were stressed about the situation and demanded that the Prince now stay in Fais. However, the 14 year old suggests he be brought back to Cauriade but with three body guards for protection. Vakus III agreed, and from then on, Daemon would be guarded by three guards.
On a foggy night on 2nd of July 152, Daemon & his childhood friend, Matiu Dorme, were out near the outskirts of Cauriade, and stumbled upon a scroll near the stream. At first both Daemon and Matiu first thought it was just a piece of Oux Fare's skin. However, upon picking it up, Matiu had realized it was a scroll, and started to read it. "The great island of the East will bring the end of an establishment of the Faelin identity. One person will help secure the Faelin identity. However, this person will have to bow down to the superior force, and must be able to admit humility for the honor of its people. Signed Aelic G." Daemon & Matiu were frightened about the prophecy, and took it and took it to their other friends. Most of them thought it was crazy but Matiu and Daemon thought it was a serious prophecy. Daemon kept the prophecy, dubbed The Grox Prophecy, in his personal chest, and would carry that chest wherever he would go.
When Daemon was 18, he left Cauriade to Fais, to go to university and be taught governance and politics. He had a hard time adjusting to the more lesiure lifestyle, as he would rather work for himself then let people do the work for him. He wouldn't leave Fais until he was 21, following his graduation from University, and went back to Cauriade on 12th November 158. Matiu welcomed Daemon, and they held a party for Daemon's return. It was during the party that Daemon asked Matiu to come with him to Fais, and work along side him. Matiu agreed and he would later become Chief Advisor of Faelo during Daemon's reign.
This way of living would be known as the Daemoian Lifestyle due to living with ordinary people rather than live in high society.
Life in the Army
In 156 GD, Daemon would join the Faelin Army as an officer. On March 24 158, He commanded the Aonad Speir UX unit during the Baile War(Home War 158-160) which was a war against Equila to conquer the island. Daemon would control the fleet at the Port of Ulric and would fight during the Battle of Ulric in 159 GD, killing the Equilos Commander, Phancis Fifos and capturing the ERS Pólemos. During the Failed Invasion of Equila (160 GD), Daemon, along with his cousin, Ernest Hiros, charged the beachhead under heavy arrow fire. When they got to the trenches, they cleared it out and captured the small town of Eulis. While moving from the captured trenches to the cliffs, an ambush happened by Kynigós Fýlakas unit, killing Ernest and the majority of the guards with the Princes. Daemon survived due to faking dead and hiding under Ernest's body. It took another 2 hours for reinforcements to retrieve the Prince.
After the Baile War, Daemon worked to improve the Faelin Army's fighting capabilities. He hired an Equilos General, Evandros Silos to help reorganize the Army, and with approval by Vakus II, enacted the Silos Doctrine.
