The Valentirian Federation of Labour (Gaullican: Fédération Valentirienne du Travail) is a centre-left political party in the Federal Republic of Valentir. It has been described as a broad church, bringing together an alliance of social democratic, progressive and trade unionist outlooks. The party's platform emphasises greater state intervention, social justice, strengthening workers' rights and the introduction of the social market economic model to Valentir.

Rewrite ---> The Valentirian Federation of Labour was founded in 1883, having grown out of the trade union movement and socialist parties of the nineteenth century. It overtook the Liberal Party to become the main opposition to the Conservative Party in the early 1900's, forming its first government in 1902 under Prime Minister Warwick MacMillan. Despite early success in Parliament, an anti-Labour coalition of the Conservative and Liberal parties prevented Labour from taking the presidency until 1925 when William Z. Foster narrowly defeated President Warren Cornelius Nielsen. In total the Labour Party has formed a total of seven governments under 10 Prime Ministers and 6 Presidents.

The Labour Party was most recently in government from 1994 to 2009 under Sandra Breckinridge, Edward Hollingsworth and Valeria Pranata during the "New Labour" era, first elected with a landslide majority of XXX, reduced to XX in 2005. Since leaving government, the party has been led by Amber Townsend since 2010. The most recent President from the Labour Party is Celeste Guillard, serving from 1996 to 2006.

Labour is currently the third largest party in the Parliament of Valentir, forming its own Shadow Cabinet in conjunction with the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet of the Conservative Party. <--- Rewrite
