The Gateway Turtle & Santa Fe Company was the re-branded Gateway Turtle Corporation directly after the 1978 purchase of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway from Santa Fe Industries. The Gateway Turtle & Santa Fe Company would be re-branded to the Gateway Turtle Company after the now-merged Santa Fe Industries and Southern Pacific Transportation Company would purchase the Santa Fe Railway to form the SPSF Railway.
