Eriwick, officially the Northern Empire of Eriwick (Eriwickian: Nordern Impier o Eriwick), is a country in Southeastern Kulanthir. With a population of 114,694,715, it is the X-most populous in the world. Eriwick is situated on the southeastern coast of Kulanthir, bordering the Ebbsmere Sea, the Sea of Cordale, and the Dulmara Ocean. Much of its territory is located on the Halberd Peninsula. It borders Dorica to the northeast, Gosigland to the north, and Malgania to the northwest. Additionally, Eriwick shares a maritime border with Sulistria to the east across the Strait of Sordith. It also possesses 5 overseas territories located far from the mainland. As a federal state, Eriwick is administratively divided into 13 constituent grand duchies. The capital and most populous city in Eriwick is The Hearth. Other major urban areas in Eriwick include Paria, Norwick, Kurdon, Newham, and Malmouth.

The territory that is today Eriwick was first inhabited by the Monadic peoples, a large group of early human hunter-gatherers that dispersed across Southeastern Kulanthir. The Western Coast of Eriwick was also home to a few separate Malthasvarian tribes. Most of the Malthasvars in the region migrated to Dulmara around the 4th century BCE, though notably the tribes that would become the Karavas remained. As civilisation developed, the Monadic peoples began to farm and establish settlements, organising themselves into tribes, the largest of which included the Kovii, the Cordii, and the Numbrii. The Monadic peoples formed numerous kingdoms in the area, which were all united by Alfred the Wise by 550 CE into the Kingdom of Monadia. In the early 7th century, the Romassan Empire conquered the Kingdom of Monadia, which was incorporated into the province of Monadia along with the territory of the Gosigs and Harots. The Romassans built massive infrastructure projects throughout Monadia and built the foundations of what is today The Hearth. In 997 CE, the people of Monadia revolted against Romassan rule, seizing a large amount of territory in the province of Monadia and establishing the Grand Kingdom of Eriwick based in the city of Eriwick (Agrinium in Romish). With the fall of the Romassan Empire in 1005, Eriwick retook much of the land of the former Kingdom of Monadia. The capital was moved to Malmouth briefly in 1114 amidst protests in Eriwick before being moved to The Hearth in 1116. The kingdom retained the name of Eriwick, which had, at that point, become synonymous with the country.

In December of 1256, the Kingdom of Dorica declared war on Eriwick following a territorial dispute over the Lispian March, today part of Dorica as the province of Lispia. The war resulted in the Dorican conquest of Eriwick, with Dorica annexing several border regions and installing a monarch of the House of Blomsbourg in the newly-established Kingdom of Hearthel-Morgate which took up the rest of the former Grand Kingdom. The conquest resulted in Doricization of much of Eriwick and major influences of Dorican on the Eriwickian language. In 1488, the King of Hearthel-Morgate was deposed by Edwerd III, the heir to the House of Numbers, the former house of the Grand Kingdom of Eriwick. The Dorican Royal Army and loyalists to the old king fought the supporters of Edwerd III in the Eriwickian Civil War. In 1491, Edwerd III and his supporters won the civil war, and Edwerd III proclaimed himself the Emperor of the Northern Empire and announced a Great March Eastward towards the Dorican capital of Brelleu. This campaign was a very successful one for the Imperial Eriwickian Army, leading to the Dorican Revolution and the Eriwickian reclamation of Northern Eriwick. Soon after, the Fifty Years' War began, and Eriwick joined on the side of the Alliance of Hollendorf against Keldoria and Dorica. Eriwick played a crucial role in the capitulation of Harotsen, Malgania and Dorica. The next few centuries were a period of growth and reparation for Eriwick, with the empire rising to become a major power in Kulanthir. In the late 1500s, the Age of Discovery began. Eriwick was one of the most prominent colonial powers, colonising many regions of Darana, Vistozia, Nemora, and Armaghan to be added into the Eriwickian colonial empire. In 1827, Eriwick used the Yulercan Revolution as a pretense to invade and occupy the Republic of Yulerca. This was followed in 1859 by Empress Catherina's federal reforms, which reorganised Eriwick into a federation of grand duchies. In 1881, Eriwick annexed Tchulal, further expanding its territory. The Morgate Act of 1924 enacted the Imperial Charter, a charter or constitution that reformed the governance of the empire to allow more rights for the people. The final expansion of Eriwickian territory occurred with the Annexation of Shhlia in 1925. Eriwick fought for the Royal Front in the Great War, which fought alongside the Kambapur Coalition.

Eriwick is a federal elective absolute monarchy. It is considered a great power, with a powerful military and the world's 5th-strongest economy by PPP and nominal GDP. It is a nuclear state with a high military expenditure. A developed country, Eriwick has a high Human Development Index ranking, offering universal healthcare and tuition-free higher education. It is a global leader in the automotive, electronics, and mining industries. Eriwick has been accused of several human rights violations and it has been criticised for its use of executions and its intervention in the Sulistro-Boranian War. Eriwick is a member of the Royal Security Pact, UKEP, an observer state of the IPFM, and a permanent member of the World Government Security Council.

  1. The Advisory Council does not have any legislative power, as it is purely consultative. This means that Eriwick de facto does not have a legislature.
