Vanya Semenov (Gasarian: Ваня Семенов; born May 5, 1932) was a Gasarian statesman who served as the first President of Gasaria from 1968 to 1978.

Born in Pisha 18km south of Sashaslav, Semenov and his family moved to Sashaslav in 1954 during the Slowdown. After obtaining his certificate from Stanislav Polytechnique, Semenov worked as an electrician, becoming interested and subsequently involved in the looming Popular Protests. A protege of activist Anna Markov, her assassination escalated the movement. Semenov led the Popular Uprisings in solidarity with other nations and became a principal negotiator to the Federate Union concerning Gasarian independence. Upon secession, Semenov's leadership was reaffirmed by an election, becoming the first president of Gasaria.

In his first term, Semenov's government oversaw the establishment of many national institutions. The Gasarian Armed Forces were established in 1969. Semenov promoted the "All-Gasarian Nation", championing a multicultural Gasarian identity despite protests from factions of nationalists. He was reelected in the 1973 presidential election.

Semenov responded to the 1974 Federate coup d'état by initiating dialogue with Oscu Mesan. During the build-up of Federate military forces near the border, Semenov issued restraint in militarization. After the initial invasion, Semenov led the defence of Gasaria for the first two years of the Federate-Gasarian War, rallying the diverse population and establishing the United Front political organization. Enacting martial law, his government was undermined by increasing corruption. Serving his second term and ineligible for election, he endorsed Nikita Baranov who would go on to win the 1978 Gasarian presidential election. Semenov continued to chair the United Front during the war and helped negotiate the Eastern Accord.
