Caedelia was ruled by monarchs from the establishment of the Caedel Dukedom in 619 IE to the present. While there have been many smaller duchies and other noble titles within the modern Kingdom of Caedelia, this list contains the lines which ruled the Caedel states prior to the establishment of the Kingdom, and follows the list of Kings of Caedelia (and Caedelia-Rhoak) from that point onward.

The first rulers of a united Caedel polity styled themselves as "Dukes of the Caedel" (Caedel: Alhussa Caedel; Krotoik: [___]). Between 689 and 788, there were anywhere from two to three independent Caedel polities, all of which styled themselves as Dukes of the Caedel, though with the regions these comprised gaining somewhat distinct identities in this time, those being Aollia, Taolhia and Treshar. During the period from the founding of the Caedel Dukedom in 619 by Ceilhon to the founding of the Kingdom in 853 in Ceidalhon I, the office of Duke was the most important role within any Caedel society.
However, with the assertion of Caedel dominance over the Shar Mountains, the office changed from the ruler of a people to ruler of a polity, that being the Kingdom of Caedelia. As such, the style of the monarchs changed to "Kings of Caedelia" (Caedel: Cei sa Caedellīe). This innovation of seeing the realm as beyond the traditional ethno-cultural boundaries of the people of the Shar and Attes Mountains is known in Caedel as Tecertrae Led, or "prominence of rule".
Dukes of the Caedel
The Caedel Dukedom was ruled throughout its history by the House of Cortre, a Caedel family from modern Aollia that can trace its line back to Hiopron of Cortre. They consolidated power in Aollia in 619.
