Ovlin is a manufacturing company based in Lappland known primarily for their snowmobiles and off-road vehicles, but also produces various military equipment and arms for the Lappland Home Defense Force. Headquartered in Kiuruvesi, the company was founded in 1935 and originally produced skis and ski accessories before acquiring the necessary equipment to produce its first snowmobile in 1955. The company began exploring arms manufacturing in late 1965 when they began modifying Trinovantan RD-01 rifles to accept 7.7x56mmR for the Lappland Home Guard. The company now leads the effort to develop weapons and military equipment for the Lappland defense force.
