Árpád was born in Neapolisz as the second child of Antal and Dorina, and he was privately educated at home. He succeeded to the throne following the death of his father, Antal on June 1 1993 and was officially coronated on June 15 1993. He has presided over major civil conflicts, including the civil war and the insurgency that continued afterwards.
