In Realms, a Starchild (Chinese: 仙子, pinyin: Xiānzǐ) is a hybrid between a Celestial and a parent from another species.

Design

A Starchild typically shares the appearance of the average person of their non-Celestial parent's species, or, if it's the same, the original species of both parents. For instance, the Starchild Sorority all look like humans. The only notable exception in a Starchild's appearance is the presence of a Mark of the Starchild, a birthmark resembling a constellation (explained below).

Overview

Unlike their Celestial parents, Starchildren draw cosmic energy from their Mark for a limited time. At first, they can only do this unconsciously under extreme stress, but can be trained to do so at will. The duration a starchild can activate his/her Mark can also be trained. A Starchild's Mark usually corresponds to their astrological sign, although this is not always the case, as there are Starchildren with marks resembling constellations outside the zodiac. Whether the relationship between a Starchild's Mark and their birth month is unique to descendants of Tianshi is unknown.
