Description
The IAV-56 program was a joint effort between Marquesan and Anagonian engineers to develop a heavy infantry fighting vehicle for the Confederate Military. This vehicle is designed to engage various tracked and wheeled fighting vehicles. The IAV-56 features an all-welded construction from forged HY-180 steel, annealed in a high-temperature oil bath. Its powerplant is a custom-designed narrow-angle V-8, derived from a 16-cylinder submarine engine, delivering 1,350 horsepower through a 32-speed twin-clutch DSG automatic transmission. The vehicle boasts a thrust-to-weight ratio of 24.1 horsepower per ton fully-loaded, capable of reaching 76.2 km/h on roads with a range of 520 kilometers. It is propelled by tracks in water, driven from the front sprockets, and features an advanced suspension system for superior ride quality.
Codenamed "Onikuma" (demonic bear) during development, the IAV-56 is equipped to transport a squad of 10 into and out of combat, with heavy protection from small arms fire, cannon fire, and armor penetration. Its armament includes a Marquesan-designed 48mm autocannon and hypersonic wire-guided antitank missiles, designed to neutralize both armored vehicles and infantry positions. The vehicle is also fitted with state-of-the-art thermal sensors for enhanced visibility through battlefield obscurants.
