The Imperial garrison of New Tevetdale, under the command of the Marquess of Tevetdale, fended off an assault on New Tevetdale by General Stanley P. Peck's Army of the Yellowback. Following the Battle of Greenfield Station, the main Imperial supply base at New Tevetdale (taken in April by Lord Richmond) was cut-off from Lord Richmond's field army by the overwhelming force of General Peck's Army of the Yellowback, the primary Union field army.
