Since 1997, the Basel-Ebelian national anthem has been a hybrid song combining new English lyrics with extracts of the hymn 'Nkosi Sikelel' iBasel-Ebel' (God Bless Basel-Ebel) and 'Die Stem van Basel-Ebel' (The Call of Basel-Ebel).
The anthem of Basel-Ebel is the only known anthem in the world to have 5 different languages in its lyrics, with each 5 having different symbols and meaning:
- Xhosa and Zulu reflects on the nation's pre-colonial roots.
- Afrikaans reflects on Aurucolia's influence through the Domonokian Free State and the Domonokian Republic.
- Japanese and English reflects on the Lucis Empire's influence from 1900s to the present.
