Byennordvest has a multi party system in which there are two main political parties the Sentrumparti who are currently in a four party coalition and the Konservativ party. It is extremely unlikely and unusual for parties to win absolute majorities in Byennordvest and so parties usually form coalitions of two parties or more. For the past 20 years the pendulum of power has swung between the Sentrumparti and Konservativ party. The current Prime Minister Runa Höelff who formed her first government in 2009 and has since gone on to form a further two cabinets after eldctions in 2014 and 2019.
