Government
On September 3, 1969
, communist forces took Nieuwe Noordervoort and established a government, following five years of civil war before the country gained independence. Since then, Wichigaruma is governed under a Federal marxist-leninist socialist republic. Since 1985, when Chandra Shankar was nominated and then elected President, a gradual series of economic reforms and de-bureaucratization of the State were carried out.
