The earthquake had alerted the Revolutionary Maritime Guards, which have declared a no-sail zone within 100 kilometers off the eastern Santorei coast, and has issued 3 to 5 meter tsunami warnings within 300 kilometers from the epicenter, covering almost half of the eastern peninsula up to a portion of Dalschiago Bay. Regardless, the tsunami has hit and covered most of the city of Minaschi, as well as other coastal towns, and even damaging an Airbase at Harnuschen.

The Eastern Sanoterei Earthquake, also known as the Great Minaschi Earthquake, was a magnitude 8.3 earthquake that occurred on October 10, 2034 at around 1:30 AM EJT in the eastern seaboards of the Sanoterei Domain. It measured around the 7th intensity on the Janpian Atmospheric and Geophysical Research Union (JATGEORU) scale, with magnitude 2 to 5 aftershocks occurring in various nearby areas such as Harnuschen and Almavosch. The earthquake's epicenter occurred 10 kilometers northeast off the coast of Minaschi, and 10 kilometers deep beneath the ocean floor. The main earthquake lasted up to 45 seconds, with various aftershocks from different fault lines lasting up to two weeks.

According to official estimates, at least over 812 to 1,000 people died as a result from the first earthquake and the following tsunami, with a plausibility to reach up to 1,400 casualties. Over 4,253 have died from the following aftershocks, with estimates rising as far as 9,651. Over 12,482 were recorded to have been displaced by the entire event. Official Revolutionary Maritime Guards estimated that over 2,518 are missing, mostly due to the tsunami that covered most of the Minaschi Area of Responsibility. This was the first large-scale earthquake that occurred in Janpia on the 21st century, being the third largest in Janpian history next to the 1986 Noteruboro Earthquake and the 1923 Great Janpian Plain Earthquake. At present, the official figures are still being determined and checked.

According to Chairman Zakuro Jeschen of the State Output and Bank, early damage are estimated to be around 100 Million Petoschkis, but with plausibility to reach up to 500 million. As such, over 1 billion Petoschkis were allocated for reconstruction efforts, with over 300 million being allocated to restart economic production, in an effort to avoid total economic collapse in the Eastern Sanoterei. The Office of the People's Marshal has also allocated up to 20 million for aid, and over 100 million for temporary rehousing.

Earthquake

On the morning of 10th, at around 1:29 AM EJT, the Janpian Atmospheric and Geophysical Research Union (JATGEORU), a Kalingrad-based union that specializes in understanding Janpian fault lines and volcanoes, has detected the earthquake's P-signal from one of their research buoys off the coast of Minaschi City. As part of the Party's early earthquake warning system, the signal triggered the automatic shutdown of communication, power lines, and train services across Minaschi and other affected areas, just 20 seconds before the earthquake. Triangulating the waves from other seismic monitoring stations revealed that the earthquakes started 10 kilometers northeast of Minaschi's coasts and were around 10 kilometers deep beneath the ocean's surface.

By 1:30 AM EJT, a magnitude of 8.3 earthquake has struck the eastern seaboards of the Sanoterei Domain, causing widespread tremors which was felt as far away as Harnuschen, which lasted up to 45 seconds. In some affected areas, places like Almavosch were hit with a magnitude 4, while areas that are further away from the epicenter such as Harnuschen were hit between magnitudes 2 to 3. However, the most affected area is the city of Minaschi and its surrounding areas, which has endured a magnitude 8 tremor as well as a subsequent tsunami.

In just 24 hours, over 8 aftershocks were already documented just within Minaschi itself, which ranged from magnitudes 2 to 4. However, JATGEORU has documented up to a total of 60 aftershocks in the city's surrounding areas, as well as in the city of Almavosch, Harnuschen, and other towns. In particular, a town near the city of Almavosch has experienced up to a magnitude 5.2 aftershock at around 3:00 AM in the morning. Preliminary estimates from the city of Minaschi suggest over 8,500 injuries and 128 confirmed fatalities from the initial tremor. The city of Almavosch has reported up to 58 fatalities, while the city of Harnuschen has reported that 32 were confirmed injured.

Tsunami

Following the earthquake warning, the Revolutionary Maritime Guards have declared a no-sail zone within 100 kilometers off the eastern Santorei coast, and has issued 3 to 5 meter tsunami warnings within 300 kilometers from the epicenter; covering almost half of the eastern peninsula up to a portion of Dalschiago Bay. Regardless, the tsunami has hit and covered most of the city of Minaschi, as well as other coastal towns, and even damaging an Airbase at Harnuschen.
