Italo Pavoni MBA (born January 26th, 1966) is a Pacitalian politician and investment banker who has been the 77th and current Prime Minister of the Pacitalian Republic since December 9, 2024.

Pavoni served as Minister of Citizenship, Culture and Immigration in the first Moya government, then Transportation Minister in the second and third Moya governments, between 2018 and 2024. He is a member of the Pacitalian Social Democratic Congress (PSDC).

On December 6th, 2024, Archonate Abeo Bamidele appointed Pavoni as formateur to head a provisional government, thus succeeding Damián Moya as Prime Minister of the Pacitalian Republic on an interim basis while the PSDC select a new leader.

Pavoni is a moderate who was a member of the more centrist Pacitalian Social Congress prior to the 2020 merger that created the PSDC.

As transportation minister, he tabled a bill in the Constazione Repubblicana to increase funding for public transit and commuter rail, followed by enabling legislation to permit a shortlist of 24 mid-sized cities in Pacitalia to build, expand or upgrade rapid transit systems. He successfully lobbied the finance ministry in 2022 to reallocate a larger portion of fuel tax revenue toward traffic calming, cycling, and pedestrian infrastructure in cities. Pavoni also implemented a nationwide reduction of the default speed limit in municipalities to 30 km/h.

Prior to entering politics, Pavoni had a lengthy career as an investment banker, joining Banco Principare Foringana out of university. He earned an MBA degree from the University of Mandragora. Pavoni's last private-sector role prior to running for office was as group head for cross-product sales at Banco di Mandragora's investment banking division.

Personal life

Pavoni has been married to fellow banker Veronica Matriciella since 1999; together, they have four children, including twins – their eldest. The family are practicing Catholics.
