Chaixis, also known as Frontier Forge is a large, terrestial planet situated in the remote Chaix system, at the very edge of the Outer Band, beyond the Galactic Union space. Chaixis is visually stunning, a blend of red and purple. It is the homeworld of the Shahru species, the only planet with a sizeable population of those saurian people. Originally, the planet was removed from the galactic affairs due to the Shahru focus on the inner perfection and regarded more as a curiosity. The turning point in the planet's history was the arrival of the Human refugees, shortly after the Overspace disaster consumed Iearth. The two species that shared different ideas and world views entered a symbiotic relationship that saw the planet's wealth and influence skyrocket.

Nowadays, the planet is a pivotal supply hub, allowing for trade, exploration and colonisation of the frontier. The orbital shipyards of Chaixis produce a wide range of spacecraft for the use of governments and private entities, as well as service the vessels in need of repair. The planetside heavy industry is no less extensive, featuring many foundries and factories. The planet's population consists mainly of the native Shahru and Humans who have since become the dominant species. Most of the inhabitants of the system live on Chaixis, but a not so small number lives in the orbital stations. It is ruled by the Forgelord, an office traditionally held by a Human. The role of the Forgelord is to represent the planet and maintain its unity. His rule is supported by the Artificer Guilds, the ancient associations of Shahru craftsmen. Their existence predates the Human arrival, they are the focal cultural and societal point of the natives. They hold significant influence over Chaixis, their power stemming from outsourcing their skilled engineers to the companies based on the planet. Chaixis Home Defense Fleet(CHDF) led by Lord Admiral is tasked with defending the system and patrolling the space beyond it. Chaixis Planetary Defense Forces(CPDF) led by Lord General are in charge of defending the planet and responding to crisises beyond it in cooperation with CHDF.

Overview

Shipbuilding facilities orbiting the planet Chaixis

It resides in the Chaix system which is a binary star system. Chaixis orbits two stars, Balan and Polavle. Balan is a G-type star which generates most of the warmth in the system. The second star, Polavle, is a M-type star, it is much colder. All celestial objects within the system eliptically orbit the two stars. Chaixis is the only habitable planet in the Chaix system. It has one moon, Vertan. All three astral bodies are visible from the planet; two suns appear during the day and one moon appears during the night. The planet's rotation around the two stars affects the climate, which adapts to the interchangeable distance between the planet and two stars, resulting in unique flora and fauna. Majority of plant life on the planet has red colour, causing its recognizable reddish hue.
