The Tyrenien Ground Forces (Tyrenian: Erat Copiis Tyrenian) or ECT is the main ground force branch of the Tyrenian Military. The ground forces are designed to protect Tyrenes and the Tyrenian people, businesses, and other interests across the world. The ground forces are capable of deploying and operating across the world in offensive operations.

Mission

The primary responsibilities of the ground forces are the protection of Tyrenes' borders, maintaining its sovereignty, maintaining the security of occupied territories, and defeating enemy forces in direct combat. The ground forces must be able to complete all of the tasks through conventional warfare and without the assistance of any nuclear weapons. The Ground Forces is also responsible for protecting the national interests of Tyrenes and ensuring that its citizens are protected no matter where they may be in the world.

Structure

The commander-in-chief of the Tyrenes is the President. The Main Command of the Ground Forces leads the ground forces and makes most of the major orders within the branch. The current Colonel General is Septemus Trenas.

Structure of the Tyrenian Ground Forces

Within the ground forces there are numerous branches of service, including mechanized infantry, armor, artillery and rocket forces, logistical establishments, reconnaissance, signals, radioelectronic warfare, engineering, nuclear, biological and chemical protection. The majority of Tyrenian soldiers are in the mechanized infantry, the main fighting force of the ground forces. This is the best equipped and arguably most important branch of service which conducts most of the fighting. Armor are the next most important and also serve on the front lines alongside the motorized rifles. Armored units are used as the heavy firepower and are an integral part of Tyrenian battle tactics.

The artillery and rocket forces provide much of the firepower for the ground forces. These units are capable of causing mass destruction from far away and are very important to the ground forces in offensive and defensive operations.

The ECT is organized into several brigade and consists of around 91,000 men according to a 2019 government report.

Personnel

In 2018 the Tyrenian Ground Forces had an estimated 91,000 active and 50,000 reserve forces, a 20% increase since the military reforms of 2008. Retired soldiers may choose to remain a part of the reserve forces and are organized into rapid response divisions in the event of an invasion of the country. This is called the Tyrenian Skeleton Corps (TSC).

Recruits remain in basic training for 10 weeks with further training for most lasting another 14-16 weeks depending on the job of the soldier. Tyrenian training is centered around discipline, physical strength, and trust in both your fellow soldiers and equipment.

The Ground Forces Fitness Test (GFFT) was introduced in the 2008 reforms and gauges physical strength and survivability of new recruits. The exercise lasts and hour. Movements in the test are intended to translate into the modern battlefield.

Soldiers can choose to do additional specialized training following their required training to receive certifications in various aspects of their branch. Officers also have the option to complete similar training and receive various certifications.

Training at the unit level takes place wherever the unit is stationed. Each army has several training centers and larger military bases where more intensive tactical training takes place.

The ECT is currently reported to be best optimized for combat in open terrain, rolling terrain, forests, and urban settings, while jungle and mountainous environments still are not the ground force’s strong suit.
