King of Vvarden
King of Vvarden | |
---|---|
This is a list of Vvardenese monarchs, that is, rulers of the country of Vvarden in the modern sense of the word. The forerunners of the monarchs of the Vvardenese throne were the following:
- Kings of the Taifals
- Kings of Lugonia
- Princes of Talbregu
- Kings of Floriana
- Kings of Lustainu
- Kings of Portucaria
These six lineages were eventually united by the marriage of Lois III of Lugonia and Xabela of Portucaria. Their kingdoms continued to be separate ruling them together as one dominion. When Lois III died in 1446, his throne passed to his son, who became Xaime I. When his mother, Xabela of Portucaria, died in 1453, Xaime I took the opportunity to unite both of these kingdoms, becoming sole King of Lugonia and Portucaria, and therefore King of Vvarden, and the thrones were from then on united permanently.
After the untimely death of Xaime II in the Battle of ..., the throne passed to a foreign king, ..., who reigned as Lois-Felip I and established the ... dynasty in Vvarden. This dynasty was known for its extravagance and for pulling Vvarden into many Asuran wars, from which it suffered economically and militarily. During this time, the Vvardenese colonial empire continued to expand, despite the failure of several crucially needed administrative reforms during the reign of Pèire II Emanuel and Lois-Felip II due to lack of support among Vvardenese nobles. In 1620, a descendant of Xoán IV, Xoán V Paies Beregantinu spearheaded an uprising backed by disgruntled nobles and was proclaimed king after a long and bloody war. The Vvardenese Restoration War ended the eighty eight year period of the ... Union under the House of ... . This was the beginning of the House of Beregantinu, which reigned in Vvarden for the next three hundred years until the deposition of the monarchy in the Coup of 1923.
