The 2020 Labour Party leadership election was held in Ordennya between 10 January 2020 and 9 March 2020, with the result declared on 10 March 2020. The election was triggered by the resignation of Josephine Petersson in December, and won narrowly by Lina Nyberg, the Work & Pensions Secretary.
Procedure
In order to stand, candidates need to be nominated by 15% of the Parliamentary Labour Party, currently 13 MPs. All members and affiliated supporters of the Labour Party will be able to vote, as will members of Trade Unions affiliated to the Labour Party. Voting will take place between January 10 2020 and March 9 2020, with the result declared on March 10.
